Hi everybody Smiley

I don't know if this subject has been brought up before...my question is has anybody, when doing a session had words come up one after the other that are spelled or sound similar but are different? For example death and deaf, or steel and still? Why does that happen? Is it just me? Is my mind playing practical jokes on me? Tongue

Yes, that is quite common.  Maybe its playing a trick on you, but I kinda think the mind connects sounds as well as images, so "still" and "steel" relate, so they can show up.

Warcollier's book is good about talking about how the access of PSI info sometimes comes in confusing bits and pieces, as is Ingo Swann's Natural ESP.

Look around here, there are lots of posts about similar situations.

Thanks for replying waterway Smiley

I did some research on the net on the Warcollier book and it sounds interesting...whilst checking out some links I came across one which mentions some cool stuff on sketches through dreams, perception, form vs meaning, etc; if anyone wants to have a look here it is;

I commonly get the sound-alikes but I have finally realized it's because I'm actually missing the sound.  It's so fast, it's like my mind doesn't catch it, and is trying to recreate it.  In a session, I can tell, because when I get the sound-word I just get it--I know that's it--whereas when I miss it and my mind is trying to recreate it, I'm flailing around with similar-sounding words.

Hi--been away for awhile, but this topic is one that interests me and I have experienced it very frequently, as I type my RV as I see it on my computer.  As the RV occurs, my typing becomes more and more dyslexic.  If I didn't have a spell-checker, the stuff would look pretty illiterate in the end.  It is not so much the "still" being mixed up with "steel," but one hand of fingers hitting the keys faster than the other--faster than usual, that is.  Normally, I have been a pretty accurate typist. But  I've always experienced this dyslexia on the keyboard associated with typing RV. It has always made me wonder what was happening with the mind to rewire the physical response when remote viewing is going on.

My initial comment was a reply to one of the replies, and didn't address the original post, I now see.  When I'm in so-called 'right-brain' mode, which I think is a misnomer but I use the phrase anyway, I "spell phonetically."

This tends to mean that if I write something when I'm emotional or entranced, I look like an idiot. I have often wondered if the inability some people have to spell well or avoid sound-alikes or phonetic word choice rather than logical/analytic word choice, might literally be a brainwave-state issue.

Thanks for posting that blu, I really recommend that others read that article by Dale Graff. I could relate to a lot of it, and I'm sure most others will be able to see something of their own experiences in there as well.

Heck it's really frustrating...just as I make an observation about something I am experiencing in RV  ......I find someone has already come to that conclusion years ago! Isn't that just like life?!  Grin Grin

Hi Tigr,

That's really interesting that you type your data instead of write it, I thought about doing that but then I thought eek I'd be forever going back to correct my mistakes Cheesy (I don't trust spell checkers hehehe).

I also have the problem of spelling words the wrong way (besides the problem with "hearing"/getting 2 similar sounding words) and I know they're spelled wrong when I write them but for the life of me I can't think how it's really spelled at that moment, it's like I shut off some area of language processing in the brain that is literally a "spell checker" Smiley

* TEN THOUSAND ROADS REMOTE VIEWING AND DOWSING PROJECT

Since its opening in 2003, the TKR Project has created and sponsored online opportunities for Remote Viewers and Dowsers. We provide free information, and community for all viewers (of all psychic methods, backgrounds, experience, and perspectives on psi), and an array of software utilities and projects offering real-time viewing within an appropriate RV protocol.

The Ten Thousand Roads (aka TKR) project is independently managed and webmastered by a diverse collection of viewers from around the "online RV field". This project owes thanks to the archives of the Firedocs Remote Viewing Collection for its primary visitor source and to the project Dojo Psi for building out its first RV software custom for TKR.

This project is founded, programmed, designed and $-sponsored by Palyne as a community service. All website names, content, graphics, and slogans are Copyright © (various dates until present) to P.J. Gaenir. Viewers and taskers always own their own content of course. Registered members are welcome to excerpt text or screenshots to communicate about the project, and we always appreciate links back to us! Try this link: http://www.dojopsi.info/forum/ for the forum, or http://www.dojopsi.com/tkr/ for the hands-on viewing area.
