Wasn't a similar study done years ago?  As I recall an emergency room doctor put a lighted sign up on the top of come cabinets to see if people could see it after their heart stopped.  The sign displayed some disjointed parts of old sayings, or something like that.

This might be a scientific study if they could first confirm that the dead person's field of vision included the shelving.  If all they can see is themselves and those right next to them, then the test will prove nothing.  And what about those who do not see themselves, but say they go right into the tunnel?  It does not address their experience at all.

The skeptics need to accept the fact that they can not prove or disprove the beliefe that there is "life" after death.  We will only find out when we get there.... or not.

True enough Wakeful. Nonetheless I am always happy to see someone waking up and making an attempt to provide scientific information on this subject. Having had a NDE myself I have been quite persueded of the existence of the phenomenon. It seems inevitable to me that these experiences will be proven in science when science catches up a little. Science can only catch up if these experiments continue.
That is of course assuming that we are all publicly made privy to all important new scientific information which I personally doubt.
That brings me to the old "what if..." part of my creative and somewhat paranoid mind.
Like what if its all ready been proven? Would "they" tell us? What kind of impact would it have on society? Would people believe it even if it was put in black and white right before their eyes? Would the high and mighty at the churches who hold so much power be a little upset? Could such knowledge be used in any type of covert activity? I dunno but I do wonder.
For me I am happy with my own beliefs and intend to spend my time further  experiencing these subjects rather than trying to prove them to others. Still I am glad someone is doing it or at least making an attempt.

Interesting questions to think about.  Would the scientific community tell us if they could prove there is life after death, and how would people respond?  Would there be a shift in power in churches or even in the government?

Thinking about it, if everyone knew that there was more beyond this life, would the prospect of death be as frightening?  Is it possible that people would be willing to take more chances, maybe stand up for their rights/beliefs a little more stubbornly?  Would death be considered such a big sacrifice if people knew that they might come back some day?

Picture this scenario:
There is a ruthless dictatorship and the people are suffering.  They know that if they die they might come back, and maybe even to the same country while the dictator is still in power.  Would enough people be willing to risk this life to get rid of the dictator to ensure if they come back they might live in a better world?  And if they would, what happens to the power that some of the world leaders think they have?  So, in that case, wouldn't such knowledge be suppressed?

* TEN THOUSAND ROADS REMOTE VIEWING AND DOWSING PROJECT

Since its opening in 2003, the TKR Project has created and sponsored online opportunities for Remote Viewers and Dowsers. We provide free information, and community for all viewers (of all psychic methods, backgrounds, experience, and perspectives on psi), and an array of software utilities and projects offering real-time viewing within an appropriate RV protocol.

The Ten Thousand Roads (aka TKR) project is independently managed and webmastered by a diverse collection of viewers from around the "online RV field". This project owes thanks to the archives of the Firedocs Remote Viewing Collection for its primary visitor source and to the project Dojo Psi for building out its first RV software custom for TKR.

This project is founded, programmed, designed and $-sponsored by Palyne as a community service. All website names, content, graphics, and slogans are Copyright © (various dates until present) to P.J. Gaenir. Viewers and taskers always own their own content of course. Registered members are welcome to excerpt text or screenshots to communicate about the project, and we always appreciate links back to us! Try this link: http://www.dojopsi.info/forum/ for the forum, or http://www.dojopsi.com/tkr/ for the hands-on viewing area.
