Ok, last night I did a target (my first ever) and I guessed a cone. I actually wrote the word cone down. And the picture was of some air balloon thing literally in the shape of a cone. Here's the picture: http://www.greaterreality.com/images/mcsa.jpg
That was very early this morning (about 3:00 AM) and this morning I woke with tons of questions. I will ask this one first. Is RV limited to something someone puts in an envelope, or can you choose what to view? I'm confused as to how you could do that, since you're not supposed to know what the target is. Any replies would be great, thanks.

To the purist, remote viewing is done under double-blind conditions.  That is, the viewer, and anyone connected with the viewer while the viewer is viewing, are blind to the target.  This is the only way to ensure that the perceptions the viewer receives are truly psychic.

Of course, you are free to choose what you want to view.  However, when you task yourself to view some object or event about which you have previous knowledge, you open yourself up to all sorts of interference from your conscious mind.  It will be difficult to "quiet the mental chatter" and get to that all-important meditative state of consciousness.  All sorts of associated memories will intrude upon you as you try to view.  I'm not saying it is impossible, just more difficult.

Don't get hung up on the envelope thing either; that's just a standard way of doing things. Essentially a remote viewer needs a CUE of some description, usually attached to a set of random numbers that they use as their 'link' to the target, the nature of which is blind to them.

The cue can be a simple instruction such as

Please describe the focus of the photograph (where a photograph is used)

Please move to the Sphinx, Egypt, and describe your impressions of the structure

a variant of that last one could be

SPHINX / EGYPT / DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE.

It isn't important that this written cue be in an envelope; it could just as easily be written on a piece of paper, typed on a computer screen, in a drawer somewhere or in your pocket. Just so long as the tasker has committed the cue somewhere, solidifying his intention in the process.

Welcome to TKR btw. Don't hesitate to ask if you have any other questions and good luck with your viewing!

Quote from: Marv
SPHINX / EGYPT / DESCRIPTION OF STRUCTURE.
Gross / General / Specific / Detail

Correct: "Egypt / Sphinx / present time"
or easier "Great Sphinx in [Giza|Egypt] / present time"
Dont' forget the temporal qualifier (when). A photo has the time in it, a description of a target has mostly not.

Sorry Marv.  Tongue

We newbies read and learn and appreciate the knowledge that must have taken serious study over a long time..  I try to understand though some is over my head.

Alright, thank you guys for the replies. Also, I was wondering what exactly you are doing when you're "viewing." For me, when I viewed the cone thing, I just let my mind go totally blank, and just let things come to me, but sometimes nothing comes at all. I was wondering if you focus on the target or what exactly goes on in your mind when you view.

That's pretty much it. There are several methodologies available (all stemming from one root - CRV) that require the viewer to internalise a set structure and manner of operating that becomes almost automatic when you are viewing, hence you are guided along by the structure itself. This makes it easier to probe certain aspects of the target without having to think "er...what should I be doing now".

Check out www.crvmanual.com for the method or go look at some sessions done by viewers for an idea of how the method works. I have some sessions you can look at over at www.thehomemadeviewer.com.

limitations: well its good to day none and im sure with the right amount of application any cna be overcome but here are some limitations:

numbers - they dont actually exist (not tangible) and numbers are a form of shorthand for grouping of usually physical things.

Words - as above

Search - locating something lost or missing then giving an accurate location - see above for why as coordinates (numbers) are hard, and so are words like place and street names.
Saying the missing car keys are in a house, on a street in an urban city - doesn't help much.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

* TEN THOUSAND ROADS REMOTE VIEWING AND DOWSING PROJECT

Since its opening in 2003, the TKR Project has created and sponsored online opportunities for Remote Viewers and Dowsers. We provide free information, and community for all viewers (of all psychic methods, backgrounds, experience, and perspectives on psi), and an array of software utilities and projects offering real-time viewing within an appropriate RV protocol.

The Ten Thousand Roads (aka TKR) project is independently managed and webmastered by a diverse collection of viewers from around the "online RV field". This project owes thanks to the archives of the Firedocs Remote Viewing Collection for its primary visitor source and to the project Dojo Psi for building out its first RV software custom for TKR.

This project is founded, programmed, designed and $-sponsored by Palyne as a community service. All website names, content, graphics, and slogans are Copyright © (various dates until present) to P.J. Gaenir. Viewers and taskers always own their own content of course. Registered members are welcome to excerpt text or screenshots to communicate about the project, and we always appreciate links back to us! Try this link: http://www.dojopsi.info/forum/ for the forum, or http://www.dojopsi.com/tkr/ for the hands-on viewing area.
