but for each person, I am sure it is different.  I think you probably need to find the right answers for you.

Hi Tbone,
I agree 100%.  I think the best amount of RVing might even be different at different times for the same person.

Quote
I have had similar expeiences to yours, Don, except not as deep.  Things caught out of the corner of my eye and a feeling of connectedness and spirituality.  Mine came when I had spent a good deal of time using the Robert Munroe programs and doing the Robert Bruce energy exercises and some time meditating in front of a homemade copper wall.

It sounds like the altered state work you were doing induced these experiences, just as it did with me.

Have you had good results with the Robert Bruce energy exercises?  I'm excited to find another remote viewer who is familiar with Robert Bruce and his methods of manipulating the energy body.  I thought I was the only one!  Lol!  I briefly described his approach to Palyne one time but I'm sure I didn't do it justice; his approach is pretty complex and different than all the old methods.  I've got 4 of his books.  I really like his simple and direct writing style.

As far as the effectiveness of his energy exercisies, I just don't know.  I did them nightly for about 3 weeks, then forgot about them for awhile, then started doing them again for another couple weeks.  Although I came very close, I never did induce a conscious OBE using his methods - I think I didn't give it enough of a try or I didn't keep it up long enough.

Regarding his energy exercises:  I like the way they are based on something other than sheeer visualization (as just about all other methods of manipulating the energy body are).  I noticed that if I did the full-body circuit or even a small amount of energy-raising at bedtime, I couldn't fall asleep; even after that tingling buzz they give me goes away.  I think his methods are great for opening up the major chakras, better than anything else I've experienced.

For awhile, using Bruce's methods, I used to do some energy-raising and some work on the third-eye chakra for about 10 minutes immediately prior to an RV session.  First I'd get physically relaxed (since I use an ERV-style methodology, I often RV lying down on my back), then I'd clear my mind and sink just slightly into an altered state, then I'd do the 10 minutes of energy work, then I'd meditate deeper into an altered state, then I'd "open" to the target. When I first started doing the 10 minutes of energy work, my RV results were awesome.  So I naturally attributed it to Bruce's energy methods.  But after 6 or 7 sessions, my results were back to what they were before, so I can't say if they really helped or not.

Bruce claims his methods will increase psychic ability but I can't say for certain if they do or not.  TBone, what were your feelings about Bruce's methods?  And did they ever seem to help your RV?  Did you ever include his methods as part of your approach to remote viewing?  Did you ever achieve an OBE wih his methods?

The thing I really like about Bruce's approach to energy work is how it's so unique and fresh.  It's unlike any other approach I've ever seen.  I think his his discovery of imaginary tactile stimulation (I'm probably not describing it correctly here) is an important contribution.  What do you think?

I have his book "Mastering Astral Projection - 90 Days to an OBE".    I enjoyed doing the execsies but I quit about half way through.  I don't really know why, maybe I was nervous about going out of body.  I didn't really find it helped with RV though it might have if I had stuck with it.  I do think I had a short out of body experience maybe a month ago.  I took a couple of 4 mg Galanta Mind capsules before bed and that helped, or maybe even caused the experience.  Maybe if I had stuck with the energy exercises I would have been able to extend it.

I seem to remember Marv used some Robert Bruce stuff too.

Hi tbone,

Yup I followed that course straight through and was lucky enough to experience -

1) Several meditative trances that lead in to the strong vibrational state, which tbh I found pretty scary at first but eventually began to enjoy
2) Several OBEs direct from waking or via lucid dreams - these remain the most powerful and amazing mental experiences I have ever had, and way surpass any drug in their intensity and impact

I would definitely recommend sticking with the energy exercises as IMO they helped immensely with achieving and maintaining the OBE state. I don't think that the OBE course really helps you with RV, to be honest, though that was just my experience (eg my RV ability did not improve/decrease during my OBE experimental patch).

What are Galanta Mind capsules?  Sounds like something I might want to try out...  But then, Marv said:

Okay Marv... What drugs?  How much do they costs and where can I get some?  C'mon man, help a brother out!

But seriously, I wish I'd stuck with it like you did,Marv.  When doing Bruce's energy excercises, I sometimes wondered if all those sensations of energy (in whatever body part I was focusing on at the time) weren't just a nervous system/focusing artifact and had nothing at all to do with the energy body.

Quote
Several OBEs direct from waking or via lucid dreams

I've never had an OBE directly from the waking state.  When I've tried, and only after weeks or months of daily or near-daily effort, I COULD go out of body rarely.  But I would always black out first.  I'd be down in a meditative state, and then start working on my exit technique (I used Bruce's "rope pull" technique a lot).  At some point while repeatedly performing the exit technique, I'd fall asleep instantly (or black out).

When I suddenly regained consciousness, I was already out of body, usually floating face-up over my physical body (I recall once realizing I was out of body only because the ceiling looked weird.  Everything, especially the ceiling fan looked BIGGER - which I later realized was because I was closer to it than normal, lol).  Other times I'd awaken  standing beside the bed.

But I never actually experienced disengaging from my physical body.  I HAVE sensed that I was starting to float upwards but, those times, the process never completed itself.  I always ended up back in my body.  And many times my arms and/or legs would lose all sensation and then begin to feel as if they were floating, sort of just hanging in the air.

I keep telling myself that I need to follow the entire program in the book you mentioned, "Mastering Astral Projection", from beginning to end.  But so far I've failed to do it.  I keep trying to start farther along in the book, telling myself something like, "Oh, I already know how to do all that.  I don't need to waste time with that".  I think that's part of my problem with Bruce's methods - I'm not really giving them a fair chance.

Regarding converting lucid dreams into OBEs, I've done that only a few times in my adult life.  It used to happen a lot when I was a kid (a couple times a year) but has only happened a handful of times since I became an adult.

For several years, I've wanted to become adept at inducing lucid dreams on a nightly basis (I know some people have used Stephen LaBerge's methods to accomplish this) and then try remote viewing from the lucid dream state.  McMoneagle did some amazing RVing from the lucid dream state.  But so far, my LD efforts have kinda been like my Robert Bruce OBE method efforts - not enough consistency to get good results.

By the way, Marv, have you done a lot of Bruce's "whole body circuit" for raising energy?  (I have trouble with the taking of energy over the top of the head and then into the nose and mouth and on down into the storage centers.  I can't maintain the flow of energy when it gets to that part).  Have you done much of Bruce's methods for working withe major chakras?  If so, what were your feelings about these exercises?  What were your results?  I'm excited to find more people who have worked with Bruce's methods - I thought I was the only one.

Interesting. I too started Robert Bruce's "Mastering Astral Projection" but only got about thirty days into it before life got in the way and I fell off the train so to speak. I hated doing the tedious energy exercises in the beginning. I had to really make myself sit down and do them every day and felt really resistant to it to the point of being a bit strange. But I'd always feel so much better after I did them and could tell it was having an accumulative effect, and a very positive and real one at that.

As the days went on I enjoyed it much more and even had a few interesting effects. Wish I would have stuck with it. Maybe when work slows down in the spring I'll start over and have another go at it.

They aren't really drugs, more of a supplement.  I heard it is useful for Alzheimers patients.  I also read not to take them more than a couple of times a week.  I have had some results with delta hemisync, so I think if I combine the delta hemisync with 8 mg of galantamine something should happen.  I just haven't got around to it yet.

In my "OBE", I was sleeping and became lucid, then I saw a vortex spinning above my head.  I kind of let myself go and when it spit me out I found I could move around.  Since I didn't have a plan on where to go, I was just kind of sucked back to my body after a minute or so.  I heard some weird noises as I was reentering.

Yup some of the exercises are quite hard to do and I definitely found it hard to 'feel' the energy moving down from head/nostrils into storage centre. Nevertheless the results speak for themselves and after several months of building up via the energy works I found it easier and easier to achieve states where, say, my feet would feel like they had stretched off into space or my arms felt like they were splayed out horizontal when in fact they were in line with my supine body.

I think that part of it is conditioning your mind to exist in that state where the sensation of your physical body is supplanted by that of your energy body on a regular basis, which is what the energy exercises tend to do if practiced regularly enough. Thus when you achieve this state unconsciously going in or out of sleep you mind is more prepared to 'wake up' or 'catch on' that you are out of body.

Interesting stuff.

For a couple years, before I knew much about meditation, I used OBE techniques to achieve an altered state for RV.  It was the usual stuff about total physical relaxation, clearing the mind, etc.  This was prior to Robert Bruce's books coming out.

Thanks for the links, Tbone.

Maybe I can get my iniative back and start that 90 day course again.

I can't even find my copy of the book to try it again.  I've been looking for it for the last three days. WTF?  This isn't the first book I've had disappear, either.  They are like socks in a dryer.

* TEN THOUSAND ROADS REMOTE VIEWING AND DOWSING PROJECT

Since its opening in 2003, the TKR Project has created and sponsored online opportunities for Remote Viewers and Dowsers. We provide free information, and community for all viewers (of all psychic methods, backgrounds, experience, and perspectives on psi), and an array of software utilities and projects offering real-time viewing within an appropriate RV protocol.

The Ten Thousand Roads (aka TKR) project is independently managed and webmastered by a diverse collection of viewers from around the "online RV field". This project owes thanks to the archives of the Firedocs Remote Viewing Collection for its primary visitor source and to the project Dojo Psi for building out its first RV software custom for TKR.

This project is founded, programmed, designed and $-sponsored by Palyne as a community service. All website names, content, graphics, and slogans are Copyright © (various dates until present) to P.J. Gaenir. Viewers and taskers always own their own content of course. Registered members are welcome to excerpt text or screenshots to communicate about the project, and we always appreciate links back to us!
