I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

Good - get rid of the time wasters, charlatans and con artists making a quick buck - leaving the dedicated.

Last issue took me ages to read and digest - good work Daz! Oh, I stuck a permadoc on the FB group as a First Point of Contact just prior to publication notice... Smiley

Daz,

Congratulations on 8 Martinis #7 - the interviews and articles on protocol/methods are alone worth the price of admission!  Smiley  It's also great that Joe McMoneagle writes at such length and forthrightly about his views on a number of topics, including the state of RV today, training, previous psi study and research and more detail about his method.

With regard to method: I found it fascinating that he sorts through his mental impressions and then through long training and experience has learned to discard some of that, and writes down the rest. The session printed at the end is a model of brevity and accuracy.  Through long experience he can also shorten cooldown by simply imagining he is listening to hemisynch rather than actually doing so.

Training: He stresses the extreme length and intensity of training that was required by the Swann curriculum (he mentions 18 months) and cites his own lifelong training and practice. This contrasts with - well, general current practice and training in the field. I feel grateful that in TDS we had very intensive training over a period of years. Would that this were possible and widely practiced in the field.

State of RV: A surface reading of the articles on protocol and method actually shows considerable agreement among the four participants. While some shots are taken, I believe readers not well-versed in the field will feel themselves trying to read between the lines to try to figure out who and what is being criticized, yet not named.   Well, maybe that will encourage some to read the TKR Archives and other sources to find out.

On previous and current psi study and research:
Joe suggests joining the Parapsychological Association as an associate and getting familiar with their literature. He also recommends the ASPR:

Parapsychological Association
http://www.parapsych.org/

American Society for Psychical Research
http://www.aspr.com/

In this vein, I volunteered to go through a trove of very dusty books that had been lying in an attic out in the boondocks for half a century. They belonged to my wife's parents. I was surprised to find one by Gertrude Schmeidler, "ESP and Personality Patterns", Yale University Press, 1958. I recalled the name because Ingo Swann has mentioned her often in his writings.

This was, I believe, the seminal book on "sheep" and "goats" in the field of psi.
http://archived.parapsych.org/sheep_goat_effect.htm
Also on psi and psi-missing.

As an astrological goat, (triple Capricorn  - sun, moon and rising sign), I was chagrined to learn I am a sheep. (Just kidding!)

But back to the main point of this: great issue, Daz. I hope it is widely read - and DISCUSSED!

Jon

* TEN THOUSAND ROADS REMOTE VIEWING AND DOWSING PROJECT

Since its opening in 2003, the TKR Project has created and sponsored online opportunities for Remote Viewers and Dowsers. We provide free information, and community for all viewers (of all psychic methods, backgrounds, experience, and perspectives on psi), and an array of software utilities and projects offering real-time viewing within an appropriate RV protocol.

The Ten Thousand Roads (aka TKR) project is independently managed and webmastered by a diverse collection of viewers from around the "online RV field". This project owes thanks to the archives of the Firedocs Remote Viewing Collection for its primary visitor source and to the project Dojo Psi for building out its first RV software custom for TKR.

This project is founded, programmed, designed and $-sponsored by Palyne as a community service. All website names, content, graphics, and slogans are Copyright © (various dates until present) to P.J. Gaenir. Viewers and taskers always own their own content of course. Registered members are welcome to excerpt text or screenshots to communicate about the project, and we always appreciate links back to us! Try this link: http://www.dojopsi.info/forum/ for the forum, or http://www.dojopsi.com/tkr/ for the hands-on viewing area.
