Rrrrrrrrrripp off !

Sorry but all dues should go to the person who has been at this longest, and also has a product out years back.

Dr Stephen LaBerge has done a lot for this area of research.

http://www.world-of-lucid-dreaming.com/novadreamer.html

The Nova Dreamer
Having founded The Lucidity Institute, Dr Stephen LaBerge decided to create a machine that could induce lucid dreams on demand. First he launched the DreamLight and DreamLink. These were the first lucid dreaming masks on the market and sold for over US $1,000 because of their cutting-edge technology.

The machines were refined over the years and in 1993, LaBerge and his team released The NovaDreamer. The mask was eventually discontinued in 2004. However, you can still obtain a second-hand one at eBay for between US $300 and US $600, which is in line with the original retail price.

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the next generation - The NovaDreamer II - for several years. It underwent beta testing in 2008 but there have been no further announcements since then. A number of competing masks have been released onto the market in recent years, such as The REM Dreamer, DreamMaker and Remee.

Get out of town. A few flashing lights and a microcontroller does not cost hundreds of dollars to build.

Get the right production run, it wouldn't even cost 1 US dollar to build.

RIP OFF indeed. Smiley

Not that I don't agree it is a "rip off", dollar to production cost wise, it really makes you think.  In my lucid dreaming, I have had far CLEARER results than RV.  RV by far quantity, Lucid Dreaming by far Quality.  There is a direct connect there that makes the fuzzy images and impressions of RV crystal clear in the LD state.  It makes you wonder WHY?  There has been no new info on the Nova Dreamer since 2008?   Surely LaBerge is the man in the field, making a deserved mint, who can afford the roll out, .....why??

I went ahead and pre-ordered my Remee.  If it helps to more consistently get lucid, it is well worth the $95.  For that matter, one special experience, or even better a lucid dream ARV session which instantly returns the investment in spades, makes the cost seem nominal.

Thanks for the heads up and link tbone.

Very interesting, I've built something similar to this a couple years back... but back then there was no "economical" way to measure your EEG to see if it actually worked, so I never figured out if it actually did anything... BUT It was fun making it though : ) Plus, it only cost me $20 in materials.

www.hackcanada.com/homegrown/wetware/brainwave/

I built it for the purposes of "improving" my concentration and learning abilities...based on the theory of Alphawave Programming...I would imagine that this new sleeping device is something similar, but instead of flashing an alphawave frequency, they probably flash a delta/theta wave frequency.

My position on this particular device has changed, and I have in fact requested a refund.  They are still on pre-order and now expected to ship in October.  It has been many years since I looked in to these devices, and on the surface, it seems reasonably priced compared to what the Nova Dreamer went for.  However, this truly is nothing more than a timer with flashing lights.....No REM detection at all.

There are better alternatives coming down the pipe which use EEGs to detect REM, combining a ZEO Sleep Manager Headband with a Android app.  I think this is still being refined and is evolving, but for anyone interested, here are a couple links.

Getting into the right dream is more difficult. About two years ago I started gaining total mastery of my dreams. Once in them I can do anything and often do. Pure entertainment factor! Then again some of them are not dreams but previews, some are classwork. It doesn't take long to distinguish between R&R and when you better pay attention.

As far as NOVA, I remember that being anticipated since around 2005 and I'm surprised to hear it hasn't materialized.

A fantastic android app was released just last week.  It is called Zild, or Zeo Induced Lucid Dreaming.  It is pretty basic, but is designed solely to interface with the Zeo wireless headband/app, and does all I would want it to do.  There is a free version, but for $4.95 I found it well worth it to buy the paid app.  You get many extra features, including the ability to play audio alerts during rem detection.  If you make a voice recording or yourself and save it in your notifications,  you can use that  to tell yourself that you are dreaming .  Pretty cool to hear your own voice in a dream, telling yourself you are dreaming.

You of course need the Zeo wireless headband, which I think are still under a hundred bucks. Add the app, and you have a lucid dreaming aid second to none(IMO).  I think the Nova Dreamer, if it were ever to be released again, would be obsolete.

Unfortunately, not available for Iphone users.

Happy Dreams

* TEN THOUSAND ROADS REMOTE VIEWING AND DOWSING PROJECT

Since its opening in 2003, the TKR Project has created and sponsored online opportunities for Remote Viewers and Dowsers. We provide free information, and community for all viewers (of all psychic methods, backgrounds, experience, and perspectives on psi), and an array of software utilities and projects offering real-time viewing within an appropriate RV protocol.

The Ten Thousand Roads (aka TKR) project is independently managed and webmastered by a diverse collection of viewers from around the "online RV field". This project owes thanks to the archives of the Firedocs Remote Viewing Collection for its primary visitor source and to the project Dojo Psi for building out its first RV software custom for TKR.

This project is founded, programmed, designed and $-sponsored by Palyne as a community service. All website names, content, graphics, and slogans are Copyright © (various dates until present) to P.J. Gaenir. Viewers and taskers always own their own content of course. Registered members are welcome to excerpt text or screenshots to communicate about the project, and we always appreciate links back to us! Try this link: http://www.dojopsi.info/forum/ for the forum, or http://www.dojopsi.com/tkr/ for the hands-on viewing area.
