Hi Everybody:  I wanted to share this screencast I had made last for some friends who I’ve been practicing my development with.  It’s based on some success that I’ve had with my own sensory development through practices, drills, observing.

Simply put, you go through the screencast while asking yourself to search out the color brown in each photo, and for each instance of brown, you quickly describe the shade of brown, the texture, sounds, smells tastses – really fast!!   But don’t worry, you can repeat as many times as you like, or not…the video is five minutes long.

There are many reasons for doing this exercise, but here are some good ones (so I don’t tell you all of mine, you can tell me how it works for you, and what you can see as relevance to developing your rv skills, I would love to hear others’ thoughts and experiences  Smiley :
 For me,
1. it is training me that if I get the word while I am viewing, I may as well not jump to conclusions, because it can mean any one of a thousand things – in this case, brown can mean brown soil, brown cupcake, brown wood, brown eyes…..on and on ad finitum

2. It is training my mind to get very quick grabs of perceptions…brown hair quickly might be “soft, multiples, natural, thin, dry, tubular, long, wavy”, while brown leaves would be “dry, flat, multiples, sharped eged, peaked edged, gritty, crispy, crunching sound” etc.  So it’s like you are overwhelming yourself with physical descriptors – getting your mind to work very actively and very rapidy to sense with all five senses and describe as fully and quickly and detailed as possible.  One of the reasons I have found this helpful is because if you have already been viewing or involved in intuitive work, you know that real correct impressions (as opposed to imagination) come in super super fast and can be so easy to miss.  In my experience so far, these exercises do seem to be assisting me in “grabbing” clusters of descriptors quickly to describe more rapidly ( I hope this works for you too! Smiley)  I hope we talk a lot about "cluster" descriptors here - so relevant...

3. Another thing I have found this exercise doing for me is that it is kind of like when you hear a piece of music in the morning and then it is stuck in your head for a while, a few minutes of hours or whatever…in this case I find that if I do a color or texture exercise like this in the morning, my mind starts looking for the color of the exercise for the next few minutes and even hours, and showing it to me all over the place…so I’ll start noticing browns everywhere around me, in places I do not usually “give attention” to consciously.  Like someone’s brown shoes, or their brown wallet, or brown lettering on a sign that I usually pass a hundred times a day and never really noticed, or the soil of a plant in the lobby of a building…for the first time I am noticing it consciously.  This I believe so far has translated into more accurate viewing for me because my mind is more “on the lookout” as a regular habit.

4. My favorite personal reason is because in a weird kind of way I feel like it brings out the “best” in my mind, meaning that I find my mind to be like a wonderful loyal dog (I’m crazy about dogs and I find analogies to them very useful when discussing developing your perceptive skills) – by this I mean that my mind likes to have a job to do, is very energetic and happy to have a master that both wants their assistance and is clear in expressing to the dog what it wants.  I find this strong “helpful” quality has bloomed in the way the mind goes out and gathers the impressions for me.  As a disclaimer, I should also say that this helpful quality has its dark side, ie mind telling you what you, tasker or client wants to hear, but we will talk about that a lot, I do hope and expect.  That's all part of training, but first things first, I have found for myself...get really sharp with powers of observation, quick grabs and ability to verbalize rapidly.

Of course I would love to hear anyone’s thoughts, or maybe exercises they have to develop their sensory abilities.  Here’s the “Notice the Brown” exercise video, enjoy and have a great day. –Mary

Great exercise and idea. Thanks for sharing.  Smiley

CRV and RV in general relies on learned experiences to draw upon when trying to communicate to the remote viewer  -elements of the targets. The more rounded and experienced we are and the larger our internal libray of experiences/memories then the more accurate the message is - when communicated as real experienced can be used to communicate to us - instead of the 'next best thing' experiences and memories that fit.
With this in mind, when Im out walking my dog (3 times a day) then I try to touch things to pick-up textures, i look for colors and new trying to experience, making mental notes of them and the sensations as I walk along - hopefully expanding my Sensories but in the real world environment.

Its like I'm constantly sampling - collecting samples for an ever expanding library Smiley

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

So true Daz, it's funny that it is called "remote viewing", because there's no question for me that anything you "penetrate" and "enage" and "consume" with your "five" senses is just a matter of taking that one little or giant step (depending on how you look at it), to sensing across time and space with our viewing eyes.  And engaging ourselves in this amazing world with all these amazing people and animals and all forms of life that we can penetrate deeply in our own every moments and then every viewing moment.  Such a great technology and use of precious time in my opinion (swooning lol!) Hope you're well. -M

Thanks for posting this exercise! Wink

while doing this exercise, at the begining, my concious mind was faster in judging the picture, than obtaining the sensory data, but at the end, i started to notice that when I see the image, I started felt the sensations at the same time my  concious mind start to catalog the object.

Now i hope to get better in this exercise to train my mind, and to obtain the sensory information first before judge the image first.  Cheesy

lol none of this really is new, I recall over 12 years ago Pru Calabrese recommended her students ALL read as required reading for TDS Methods development, Win Wenger's
The Einstien Factor - I believe Mycroft also mentioned the book again
in a recent thread.

The process is universally known as Image streaming.

http://psychology.wikia.com/wiki/Image_streaming

"Wenger believes that the endless stream of visual images, that everyone experiences to some degree, contain important thoughts and insights. Certainly many discoveries have come through day dreaming, most notably Einstein's discovery of the theory of relativity.

Describing the images aloud, brings them to conscious attention and, according to Wenger, leads to more and clearer imagery. Wenger describes this as a feedback mechanism where the act of observing causes more imagery to be produced.

He also speculates that image streaming links visual and verbal modes of thinking and that this causes intelligence to increase."

* TEN THOUSAND ROADS REMOTE VIEWING AND DOWSING PROJECT

Since its opening in 2003, the TKR Project has created and sponsored online opportunities for Remote Viewers and Dowsers. We provide free information, and community for all viewers (of all psychic methods, backgrounds, experience, and perspectives on psi), and an array of software utilities and projects offering real-time viewing within an appropriate RV protocol.

The Ten Thousand Roads (aka TKR) project is independently managed and webmastered by a diverse collection of viewers from around the "online RV field". This project owes thanks to the archives of the Firedocs Remote Viewing Collection for its primary visitor source and to the project Dojo Psi for building out its first RV software custom for TKR.

This project is founded, programmed, designed and $-sponsored by Palyne as a community service. All website names, content, graphics, and slogans are Copyright © (various dates until present) to P.J. Gaenir. Viewers and taskers always own their own content of course. Registered members are welcome to excerpt text or screenshots to communicate about the project, and we always appreciate links back to us! Try this link: http://www.dojopsi.info/forum/ for the forum, or http://www.dojopsi.com/tkr/ for the hands-on viewing area.
