Aloha Dawna,
The LST calculator for longitude on the Navy site below is not
working. You will notice no matter what you enter as a value, the
results page says error, 0 entered, and shows the longitude as 00 00
00 when it is obviously not. You'll have to use the US city/state
option on the second form below that to get an LST reading.
http://tycho.usno.navy.mil/sidereal.html
To make this post useful to others, I will mention for anyone who
doesn't know, that S. James P. Spottiswoode (and associates)
discovered via meta-analysis a shocking correlation between Local
Sidereal Time (also known as 'star time', as opposed to our clocks
which are on 'sun time') and free-response anomalous cognition effect
size (in English: remote viewing session accuracy).
He found that at a certain +/- 1hr time of LST, results were up to
400% HIGHER (more accurate) -- and at another time period, were
essentially in the "dead zone" (base with chance). This was
confirmed with additional datasets.
This is one of the greatest discoveries in recent parapsychology
history because it is the first time EVER that ANY "correlate" to
psychic functioning has been found. That is one reason skeptics have
felt it can't exist, is that it is so inconsistent, but there was
never any measure of why. LST analysis sort of explained why some
research projects got seemingly impossibly high results, and others
got seemingly impossibly low results -- coincidentally their timing
matched the high or low LST zones.
Now this research applies to the Western hemisphere so it may or may
not mean anything to the rest of the planet; we have yet to see.
Further research continues to see if there is an effect based on
latitude (LST is based only on Longitude). There may in fact be some
places on the planet that are best for psychic functioning at certain
times; it may be that there is some space-time coordinate somehow
more 'tuned in' -- or it may simply be that there are different times
that things work vs. don't in psi.
Recent research that I think is not yet published suggests that not
only does accuracy vary predictably (measured as a group, of course)
with LST, but that during times of lowest accuracy, viewers actually
record MORE data. That is sort of intriguing.
For the papers which discuss this, and gives charts you can see on
times and effect size, visit http://www.jsasoc.com/ "library" area.
For the astrologically inclined, the time when the effect is lowest
is when one's position on the planet directly faces the center of the
galaxy; the time when the effect is highest is when the constellation
of Virgo is overhead. Wasn't Virgo the communicator?
P.S. Never mention the Virgo association to a scientist. They may
have an allergic attack on the spot. :-)

Hello Palyne,
It's such a bizzare but apparently reproducible psi
correlation. Some have speculated that the giant black
hole in the middle of our galaxy distorts psi when it
is overhead. A very proficient OBEer I know mentioned
that she had traveled to the galactic core once and
found it indeed did have bizzare time and space
effects on her astral body. Permitting one to
seemingly view many different alternate time lines for
ones own future ? Anyone else want to try, I can
reccommend a good guide! But if you go on your own..
avoid the walls of the central vortex.. a word to the
wise.
Best Regards,
Bill

LOL! The Central Vortex! Oh, No! -- I don't mean to poke
fun doc, but that SOUNDS damned funny on paper -- PJ

Aloha PJ,
OH NO...Now I have to find a Virgo Constellation to Earth clock?
Got an url handi
I have far too little data to base an experientially sound opinion on
LST...but I personally have found my work to be much easier and far
likelier to be a 'hit' close to 13:30...
Unfortunately I can not always do a session at that time...(Whenever it
occurs inconveniently...which is frequently)...So I view anyway...win
some lose more...haha

----------------------
Moderator's Note: I'm just starting to chart it but even then it'll only
be an 'if it's convenient' kind of thing. Dr. Charles Tart has a paper
on his website where he speculates that learning theory would suggest
that the more psi one demonstrated in any given experience with feedback,
the more one would learn, and therefore, the 'learning curve' would be
almost exponentially higher for those who began with a decent amount of
demonstrable psi talent. (It's just theory. He's one of the few brave
enough to theorize about most of this as if it's real. ;-)) So I figure
that might apply to also avoiding 'dead-zone' for sessions or aiming for
allegedly 'better times' for sessions... NONE of this should be taken too
literally I think, the research does not say that nobody can get accurate
data at 18LST and everybody gets great data at 13.3LST... only that as
a charted trend minus outliers, that's a massively clear curve. In the
end, I think learning "how it feels" when one cannot do a session, when
one is not doing well, is almost as important as learning how it feels
when one is, if you know what I mean. I've avoided LST aim until now
because I didn't want to "skew" my results based on expectation of that.
But as one of many attempts to improve practice, it can't hurt. -- PJ
