Hi Glyn --
Well, there just seems to be a whole pack of "coincidence" energy going on
with this. Your dream, leading to your finding the magazine article. My
"accidentally" coming upon the LA Times brane theory article, which led me
to look for it online and post the URL here at PJRV and another at
metaphysical list I'm on, where a whole string of personal previous-current
"coincidental" happenings led a member there to find this same Scientific
American parallel universes magazine article (hard copy), then locate it
online and post the URL (I am reading the article now):

There are many related links, too, with online version.
I do find synchronicites (errrr "coincidences" ;) very exciting --

Thanks for that Linda, and now I have lots more to read as well :-).
Yes, it's strange about coincidence..sometimes it is almost as if some
things are 'brought' together in a hurry, (even rather 'clumsily' on
occasion).. in order to achieve an end that often seems 'designed' to be;
but with the 'why' somewhat obscure.
I think we need to see the big picture before we can begin to get the answer
to whether there is a reason behind some coincidences, and we are a long way
from that I think.
What I *really really* hope for is that one day we find out that when each
of us dies as an individual in this dimension of existence, that we
instantly open our eyes in one of these other universes as another
individual (or identical/similar), with a full set of new memories......as
if we had been living a parallel life (lives) but each of our different
'selves' is unaware of the others (consciously anyway).
If parallel dimensions exist for all possible eventualities, then to
extrapolate a bit it could be that in some of these 'lives' the killer
becomes the killed, the torturer the tortured, the bully the bullied, the
evil-doer the evil-done. If we knew that, or even suspected it, seriously,
then think how life in our present 'universe' would change! We would try to
create heaven on earth. We would have to all go out of our way to be nice to
other people and to look after others and smooth their path through this
life. You bet we would do that, because by making the lives of others hell,
we would know we would only be hurting ourselves.
Some religions try to teach us this already with talk of reincarnation and
karma and being kind to all. What if they are on track? If ever science
could go even part of the way to back this up....then perhaps we will get to
the stars after all and not blow ourselves to smithereens fighting with
eachother.
Perhaps we should hedge our bets and do a good deed each day; just in case.
Sounds sloppy and sentimentalist 'New Ager' thinking I know.........but
heck, what if it's true? Anyway, there is one consolation....if we blow
ourselves to bits in this universe, we may have plenty more to work with
;-).
Regards,
Glyn
