I didn't really begin serious practice of RV until a couple years
ago. I tend to practice for a month, not quite daily, and then take
six months off to integrate, LOL. :-) I haven't been in any rush, as
I tend to feel that rushing the process before the psychology has
time to adapt is one of the sources of instability often seen in
viewers, so I've been casual about the timing. I'm not competing
with anybody, just working through it when I have time.
I find that finally, there are things that are fairly clear for me
now that didn't used to be. Such as knowing when data is symbolic
vs. literal. Such as getting 'people' as a type of data, I didn't
use to get that at all.
I find that when I'm in a session and feel the target is or has a
person, then I start having difficulty. The minute I feel there is a
person in the target, I'm in a forced-choice situation. Now there's
only two likely options: male or female? Only a few options each for
general hair color, age range, etc. My left brain is kept out of the
RV process mostly by the experience of being so wrong so often it's
finally learned that NO, it really has NO idea, so shut up. :-) But
when I hit any forced-choice situation, my left brain is right in
there, when it's "decision-making" more than intuition in its
opinion, that's its territory.
A couple practice targets ago, I thought the target was a man. It was
a woman. Of course, she was wearing a man's baseball jersey and cap
and was pitching, she's the first ever woman pitcher in the minor
league. Still, blew it. The last practice target, I also felt was a
man, who at the target point was thinking to himself, "Have to be
strong. Have to be tough." (The last line in the session was an
Aspect saying, "He doesn't FEEL criminal." I wondered, what does that
mean??) The target was Richard Nixon, just about to shake Ford's
hand, leaving the White House in a copter after being impeached.
But in both of them, even though I knew the target was focused on a
person, that realization so made me feel in forced-choice mode that
my left brain dived into the traffic of it, gridlock shortly ensued
and my mind just locked up. It not only affects my getting more and
better data about the individual, but it affects my target contact
overall, often stalling the session, so to speak.
Anybody who has encountered this and has their own personal ways of
dealing with it, I'd be glad to hear.

Hi PJ,
I'm impressed that you can reliably know when a person
is there. But once that's known Pru taught us a really
good way to tell if it was male or female and it
really does work. I'll PEM you if you want to know..G

Wait, lemme guess. Does it involve feeling out their genitals or something?
LOL! I mean, I dunno why the privacy. ;-) Sure, PEM me. But I cannot vow to
keep the approach confidential if it works for me--I can only vow to keep the
source and reference that way. If it works I'd eventually tell someone else I
imagine. PJ

Hi PJ,
Here's my 2 cents for what it's worth. This is an instance where my
doubts and insecurities actually are an advantage. I kind of let that run the
show, after all, what do I know? So I just report what I see, no leading
questions in my mind, I just figure I'll sort it all out in the end, so I always
just write down what I see, no judgement, no decisions. Like watching an
abstract movie. When that logical side tries to creep in, I just have a feeling
in
my head that says I could be wrong, wait and see what else comes. My outlook
is, if I'm supposed to know the color of their hair, I'll be shown it, If I'm
supposed to know if it's man or woman, I'll be shown it, and leave it at
that.
Maybe that's why I don't get as much info in my sessions as everyone
else :P
I don't ask, hehehe :)
