I have so many exercise sessions I've lost track of numbering and
will have to go back through my lab book and catch up. Anyway...
I noticed something vaguely interesting today. Maybe it is an
artifact and doesn't really mean anything.
Well first off, my sessions stopped for my body. I have noticed this
before. I'm a programmer and often very sedentary, and if I don't
get exercise, I notice that sometimes it is like I can clearly feel
that my nervous system is TRYING to pass something through a part of
me -- like one of my legs -- but I'm getting abreactions (little
muscle spasms) instead. I can clearly feel that I am losing the data
in this process, and it makes me a lot more interested in the asian
systems related to the body's meridians and a sort of "subtle"
nervous system that is somehow part of and yet possibly slightly more
than the one we know about.
Why a leg needs to be involved in RV, don't ask me, I have no idea.
Where was I - point 2. Well so I had this exercise, not much data,
too much abreaction so I kept it short. The primary data I knew
related was "long, long" and "sinking" and "big"; the target was an
oil drilling platform (offshore); suckey session (not off target,
just no real data). So I did another exercise session, where I
instantly got long, long -- but separate 'threads or streams' of
something that come together in one general shape, pooling, rounded,
instant AOL at ideogram point of waterfall, 'streaming' and more AOL
on waterfall. The target was 'the waterfall of the gods' -- which I
have gotten before (I have 2 copies of most targets in my pool).
I have noticed several times that when I do targets close together,
the data concepts in the second one which match the feedback in the
first one are often more pronounced in my session. This often
actually causes me AOL itself because I think, "it CAN'T be, I mean I
just had a target with that so maybe I am sort of carrying that
over..." I am not certain if one is simply sensitized to a certain
kind of info due to the session just completed; or if the feedback
previous has opened the psychology for that one particular kind of
data being very 'okay to accept' for a brief time; or if it's just
some psychological overlay, grafting what is currently in your head
onto whatever else that follows.
Another separate issue (point 3) I noticed today was, one data point
in the WotG exercise was "again." I thought - this was AOL -
"again? - Oh - well yeah, long-long, I got that data last session
too." But when I saw the feedback, I thought, "I got this target
again."
I have had a few targets now that I've gotten more than once. My
data is usually quite different each time -- but I do seem to be
gradually learning to feel a target I've had before. A couple that
I've gotten three times, I consciously suspected the third time that
it was that target or one incredibly similar to it.
I wondered if the reason I *instantly* got a long Id and gut
feeling "waterfall" on the second exercise was because I'd had the
target before and so in some way was sensitized to it.
Once I get my target pool way down to about 150 I'm going to take all
my new targets waiting to be added (couple hundred) and
my 'favorites' of the previous pool and put about three each into the
new pool.
I think it is really, really cool to encounter the same target more
than once and learn something from that - how you respond to it
differently, what you miss consistently, can you recognize it
eventually, etc.

This reminds me of a cognitive psych theory in which the idea is that
neurons that are used more often get primed which results in them
being more sensitive and firing more easily with less stimulation. It
was a theory that was used to try to understand memory formation and
retrieval.
I think it has some correlaries with rv. It often seems to me that
stuff that is fresh or stronger in your mind is more easily triggered
during a session. That's why you often see people thinking of stuff
that had a recent relevence to them or also stuff from their
childhood. BOth types of thoughts and memories seem to be stuff that
is more entrained in the memory bank.

Aloha PJ,
I kinda like getting a target several times myself...I like the feel of
knowing...especially when I am correct!...hahah...I always jot down these
impressions in the summary...no matter how I feel about them at the
time...
The more I write in summary... the more I learn in retrospect...I get so
irritated with myself... when I do a session too fast...and write too
little... and then want to go over it in the future ...and then realize I left
so much out of the summary...

That kind of all-encompassing, one-word descriptor, in this case for your
experience with getting this exact target a second time, is fascinating to
me. Ocassionally, I'll get those, where just one word tells the whole tale
by itself in an almost unnervingly specific way. It's odd how the same word
can be so dead-on accurate but at the same time be so useless and meaningless
without the feedback. I've been paying attention to this kind of thing for
awhile lately. I'm starting to think that they tend to remain somewhat
constant in their meanings from one session to another. It's like the word,
and the concept the word defines, act symbolically in the same way over and
over again.
An example is the word "Aspen". I happened to get a picture of a ski resort
as a target about six months ago and I got that word - but the resort wasn't
anywhere near Aspen. It seemed to me like I had gotten "Aspen" before one
time when the target was a picture of a man refurbishing a pair old snow
skis. I looked back through my old sessions from the time period for when I
thought I remembered doing it - actually, I was wrong about when I did that
target and it ended up taking me hours to find while I kept getting
sidetracked looking at old sessions - and I HAD used that word. So, I talked
to my wife about it and asked her to make a target, something snow
skiing-related, and throw it in the target pool sometime. I want to see if
it happens again.
I think there might be a couple other words that operate like that for me.
I've been looking over old sessions, seeing if I can notice anymore, but I
haven't yet. I wondered if this goes on with anyone else?
Best regards,
Don

I've noticed that happening as well. However, it's been a bit of a
catch 22 for me. Once I notice a pattern, the sheer act of noticing
the possible significance of the word seems to change the way the
word is stored in my head and then later accessed. (that's my
current theory anyway) And so the patterns doesn't hold as well
anymore after I figure it out. Or maybe it's just that my rv evolves
and so old patterns are phased out to make way for new and hopefully
more effective ones?

Hi,

Yeah it is. I also love it when I come across a picture of a target I've had
before and get additional feedback. Some times you'll realize you were right
about an element of your session that wasn't apparent before. It's nice to
get unexpected, addtional feedback long after you've done the target.

Aloha,
One session (actually3)...I got a building of Asian architecture
...sitting upon the edge of a lake...and the exact image on the land
...was reflected in the water...
I got the word TAO every time...it was a hit the first time...and the
second and third times...I of course remembered the original viewed
photo...the second time I blew it...I assumed it couldn't be the same
photo...but the third time... I trusted it and...I got it again...
This was over several months time...but has stayed in my currant memory
for some reason...
